With a passion for our country and all things uplifting, Andre du Toit who is widely known as The Big Positive guy, is proving that positivity is contagious.
After 24 years in the corporate world, Andre did not anticipate the turn that his career would take when he was asked to make a decision to permanently relocate to Europe after he had spent 4 years there heading up a subsidiary of one of the largest companies in the world.
Despite how tempting the perks and benefits were, when the time came to make a call, he found the thought of leaving South Africa too painful to act on and strongly believed that he still had a role to play.
This decision was one of the best he ever made and in his words “has been one of the defining decisions of my life”.
It was when he noticed the overwhelming amount of negativity around South Africa and its future, that Andre decided to try break the pattern of negativity that we have fallen into and to remind us of what a special group of people we as South Africans really are, and to motivate people to focus on the good in our country, which he sees as the land of opportunity.
A talk that he was asked to do based on his story at a large sales conference 10 years ago sparked massive interest and has blossomed into a booming career that sees him presenting to over 120 corporates and SME’s a year on the topic of positivity and optimism around South African matters.
His message is embraced by corporates and government alike, with clients across the political spectrum with his message of optimism based in reality being widely acclaimed.
His love for speaking culminated in him winning the 2015 Western Cape Toastmasters Most Humorous Speaker award and the 2017 speech evaluation contest.
We were so inspired by a talk of his that we attended at Re/Max, that we simply had to share his story with you – be sure to follow him for a daily dose of happiness and lightheartedness.
